Volcano Art Center will host a Zentangle workshop, “Zentangle: Diva Dance,” on Saturday, Dec. 12.

Participants will create three holiday cards and a Triptych assembled in three sections that can be folded shut or displayed open.

The event will hosted by Zentangle’s three “divalicious instructors” – Lois Stokes, Leslie Barton and Lydia Meneses – from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Volcano Art Center.

During the event, the instructors will encourage the movement of dance across paper with rockin’ music.

All three teachers will feature a unique form: waltz with Stokes, foxtrot with Menses, or Rock N’ Roll with Barton. The trio will then teach a tango, a variation created by combining two or more different tangles into one tangle.

Zentangle is a form of art created by drawing structured patterns. The repetitive nature of the patterns is know to bring participants into a state of relaxed focus that some call meditation.

The class fee is $35 for the public and $30 for VAC members. An additional $10 supply fee is also required. Holiday food will be served and the music will be festive.
