Highway 11 has reopened to traffic in both directions, near mile marker 108. The roadway was closed Friday afternoon in both direction as the result of a vehicle accident.

The Hawai’i Police Department urges motorists to use caution in the area.

A full road closure of Highway 11 near the 108 mile marker in South Kona has been reported by the Hawai’i Police Department.

The closure is the result of a traffic accident.

Motorists driving in the area should use alternate routes if possible.
