The 45th Annual Kona Coffee Festival is just about ready to begin with a kickoff weekend, beginning Friday, Nov. 6.

Each year, the Kona Coffee Festival celebrates local coffee brews and the agricultural communities and history that surround Kona’s coffee farms.

Kona Historical Society Kona Coffee Living History Farm Tour

  • An education self-guided tour will take farm visitors through a story of Kona coffee pioneers, showcasing the lives of Japanese immigrant farmers between 1920 and 1945.
  • Admission is $10 with a festival button (which can be purchased on site).
  • Friday, Nov. 6 at Kona Coffee Living History Farm from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kona Coffee Cultural Festival Art Show

  • The restored coffee mill will display art that celebrates the culture of Kona coffee.
  • Friday, Nov. 6 at Donkey Mill Art Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kona Coffee Cultural Festival Art Show Opening Reception & Awards

  • Art will be celebrated with featured guests. Attendees will take part in a potluck dinner as Kona Brewing Company serves their Pipeline Porter, made with 100% Kona coffee. During the event, the Kona Coffee Art contest will be announced.
  • Friday, Nov. 6 at Donkey Mill Art Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sugai Kona Coffee Talent Night

  • Kona’s musical and dance talents will perform multi-cultural community performances.
  • Friday, Nov. 6 at Konawaena Elementary School from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Holualoa Village Coffee & Art Stroll

  • Art galleries will open their doors as over 30 Kona coffee farms provide samples of their best brews.
  • Saturday, Nov.7 at the Historic Holualoa Village from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Donkey Mill Art Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

UCC Ueshima Coffee Co., Ltd. Miss Kona Coffee Scholarship Pageant

  • Contestants from around the Big Island will compete for the Miss Kona Coffee and Miss Aloha Hawai’i titles.
  • Tickets to the event are $30, plus the purchase of a button.
  • Saturday, Nov.7 at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa – Kaleiopapa Convention Center at 6 p.m.

UCC Ueshima Coffee Co., Ltd. Kona Coffee Picking Experience & Coffee Games

  • The public is invited to try their skills at picking Kona’s famous harvest. Local community organizations will compete in coffee games.
  • Sunday, Nov. 8 at UCC Hawai’i Kona Coffee Estate from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

KTA Super Stores Kona Coffee Recipe Contest & Big Island Showcase

  • Amateurs, culinary students, children, and professional chefs will present their favorite entrée and dessert recipes featuring 100% Kona Coffee. During the Big Island Showcase, Big Island products and gifts will be featured and farmer-direct coffee will be available.
  • Sunday, Nov. 8 at Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa – Kaleiopapa Convention Center, with the showcase at 10 a.m. and recipe contest at 12 p.m.
