2015 Paniolo Hall of Fame Class Announced
Nine people will be inducted into the 2015 Paniolo Hall of Fame during a ceremony in November.
The Paniolo Hall of Fame is organized by the O’ahu Cattlemen’s Association, and the ceremony is held during the Hawai’i Cattlemen’s Council Annual Convention, held at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay on Nov. 14 at 12:30 p.m.
A total of 137 individuals have been or will be inducted in prior classes since the inaugural Hall of Fame group was inducted in 1999. The Paniolo Hall of Fame recognizes paniolo from the past and the present who maintain the heritage of the hawaiian cowboys and continue the legendary paniolo culture.
Five of this year’s nine inductees have ties to the Big Island, including Godfrey Kahelelani Kainoa Sr., who has been involved with JK Ranch, Parker Ranch, and Kahua Ranch, and Kapapala Ranch manager Lani Cran Petrie.
