UPDATE: Flash Flood Warning Issued Through 6 p.m.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for the Big Island through 6 p.m.

Just before 3 p.m. radar was showing nearly stationary thunderstorms producing heavy rain and flash flooding over western and central areas of the Big Island.

In some areas rain was falling up to three inches per hour.

Kailua-Kona, Captain Cook, Honaunau, Waikoloa Village, Puuanahulu, Kalaoa, Waikii, and Saddle Road Junction.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the Big Island through 4:30 p.m.

Just after 1:30 p.m., radar was showing showers and thunderstorms that may cause flooding across western and central portions of the Big Island.

According to NWS, radar was showing rain falling up to three inches per hour.

Kailua-Kona, Captain Cook, Honaunau, Kealakekua, Naalehu, Pohakuloa Training Area, and Ocean View are all included in the advisory.
