Pavement work is set begin on Ka’iminani Drive, between Kakahiaka Street and Ane Keohokalole Highway in West Hawai’i, on Monday, Oct. 19.

Department of Public Works crews and the country’s project contractor, Nan, Inc., will pave about 2,300 feet of roadway and install temporary pavement markings.

The project is expected to last through Friday, Oct. 30 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

This will be the first of five segments to reconstruct and pave Ka’iminani Drive between Ane Keohokālole Highway and Ahiahi Street.  Utility adjustment/relocation and other types of work in the project area are also ongoing.

Individuals who plan to drive in the area should use caution and expect delays due to heavy vehicles and machinery in the work zone.

An alternate lane closure system will be in place during working hours.
