Thunderstorms & Lightning Expected Today

Isolated thunderstorms with dangerous cloud to ground lightning have developed over the slopes of Mauna Loa.

Elsewhere across the Big Island scattered showers with locally heavy rainfall are developing across interior sections of the Big Island and along the windward slopes and coast.

Additional showers with locally heavy rainfall and possibly thunderstorms can be expected for the rest of the afternoon across portions of the Big Island.
