Hilo Walmart is under new managerial direction following the appointment of Jerod Strong.

Strong, who began his Walmart career as an hourly department manager in Alliance, Ohio, was recently named the Hilo store’s new manager.

The 18-year veteran served nearly half of his years with Walmart in Hawai’i. Strong most recently served as a co-manager of the Kapolei Walmart on Oahu.

In addition, Strong has also spent his time with Walmart as a store manager in Ohio and as a facilitator providing training for Walmart stores in Hawai’i.

“We have a great team of associates serving our customers in East Hawai’i,” said Strong. “I enjoy living in Hilo and I’m looking forward to meeting customers and supporting our island communities.”

Along with his work roles, Strong serves as an assistant scoutmaster for the Aloha council of the Boy Scouts of America.
