The Mauna Kea Resort recently appointed a new director of activities.

Candice Lucas will be responsible for developing and coordinating activity programming at both the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel.

Craig Anderson, vice president of operations at Mauna Kea Resort, said in a press release, “we’re looking forward to further improving the guest experience through a diverse and exciting lineup of activities from Vino & Vinyasa to rides in our new Mauna Kea sailing canoe to fun cooking and mixology classes.”

“Candice brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the newly created position, otherwise known as our ‘Director of Fun’,” he said.

Most recently, Lucas was the director of spa at The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii. Prior to this, she served as the hotel’s director of special projects, and also held positions as director of revenue management, front office manager, and reservations manager.

Lucas graduated from Kohala High School, and attended Kapiolani Community College in Honolulu, where she received an associate of science degree in hotel operations.
