A High Surf Warning is posted for east facing shores of the Big Island through 6 A High Surf Advisory is posted for south and east facing shores through 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.

Looking Ahead
Rather light winds are expected over the next several days thanks to Jimena passing by north of the state. Scattered showers can be expected especially during the afternoon hours. Some showers may be locally heavy. As we head toward the second half of the week, more moisture is expected to be drawn up on the backside of Jimena. Winds are expected to be from the southeast at that time. An increase in shower activity is forecast with the best chances of showers being during the afternoon hours.

Today we expect partly sunny skies in the morning with mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Isolated showers are expected in the morning with scattered showers in the forecast for the afternoon. High temperatures from 87° to 92°. Variable winds up to 15 mph.

Variable winds are expected this evening up to 15 mph. Low temperatures from 75° to 80°. Partly to mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers are expected with clearing skies as the night goes on.
