Hawaiian Airlines Appoints New Director

Hawaiian Airlines recently appointed Timothy Somerset to director of facilities management.

Somerset is responsible for managing Hawaiian Airlines’ new projects and renovations, as well as the administration and maintenance of facilities company-wide.

Hoyt Zia, senior vice president and general counsel and corporate secretary for Hawaiian Airlines wrote in a press release, “Timothy’s exceptional management skills in facilities planning, development and day-to-day operations will allow us to efficiently address our current and future facilities’ needs.”

Somerset has more than 25 years of reconstruction and construction management expertise, having most recently served as director at Cumming Corporation Hawaii. Previously he was the director of reconstruction and estimating at WEST Builders, where he worked with clients to lead all phases of various projects, from conceptual estimating to design and permitting to scheduling and construction.

Somerset has held numerous other leadership roles, including managing partner at Urban Core Inc., vice president and regional manager at Charles Pankow Builders, operations manager at American Constructors, and project manager at Central Real Estate Development Corp.

Somerset holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California in Los Angeles. He also is a licensed contractor in California.
