DCCA to Hold Public Meetings on Oceanic Transfer
A series of public hearings will be held across the state by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Cable Television Division.
The meetings will regard the joint application that was filed by Charter Communications, Inc. and Oceanic Time Warner Cable, LLC’s parent company, Time Warner Cable, Inc., for approval of the proposed indirect transfer of control of Oceanic’s cable television franchises from TWC to Charter.
Comments and opinions in regard to the proposed transfer and cable issues will be heard at two meetings on the Big Island.
The first will be held at the Aupuni Center Conference Room in Hilo on Sept. 9 at 4:30 p.m.. The second will be held the following day in Kona at the West Hawai’i Civic Center’s Community Meeting hale at 4:30 p.m.
Those who are unable to attend either of the meetings in person can send their written comments via e-mail to cabletv@dcca.hawaii.gov, via fax to (808) 586-2625, or mail to Cable Television Division, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, P.O. Box 541, Honolulu, HI 96809.
Written comments must be filed by Friday, Sept. 25 at 4:30 p.m.
“CATV encourages the public to participate in this process by attending the public hearings and submitting written comments” said CATV Administrator Ji Sook “Lisa” Kim. “We will consider all comments and inputs received during these public hearings in our review and evaluation of the Proposed Transfer.”
