A packed house of coaches, supporters, and Hall of Famers gathered Wednesday night to help induct four new members into the University of Hawai’i at Hilo Vulcan Athletics Hall of Fame.
Nearly 200 people gathered at the Nani Mau Gardens banquet room to honor Dr. Edward Gutteling, Dennis O’Brien, Flavio Nucci, and Edna Togiai, the newest inductees into the Vulcans Hall of Fame.
Wednesday night’s event was also the first public event for Patrick Guillen, UH-Hilo’s new Director of Athletics. Guillen officially started the job on Monday.
