Funds for the school garden and art programs at Laupahoehoe Community Public Charter School will be the focus of the school’s second annual My School Color Run fundraiser.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29 will consist of a color run where participants will be doused in colored powder as they run.

“We’re extremely excited about the launch of the My School Color Run Program at our school,” said Niki Hubbard, the event’s organizer. “We want to encourage the entire community and encourage local businesses and individual community members to get involved in this fun event.”

In addition to student pledges, the fundraiser, which organizers say goes “beyond traditional fundraising,” will accept business pledges.

The event will be begin at 7 a.m. at the LCPCS Upper Campus.

Individuals interesting in participating in the event can register by visiting the LCPCS website or event page.
