A traffic change in Kona is expected as the E.K. Fernandez Big Island Fair 2015 comes to town.

The access route into Kailua Park, better known as Old Kona Airport Park, will be diverted to the beach access road located at the north end of Kuakini Highway.

Hawai’i County Department of Parks and Recreation officials say the change will be in effect from Friday, Aug. 21 through Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Motorists driving in the area should be cautious and mindful of the five-mile-per-hour speed limit that will be in effect during the route change.
