The Department of Water Supply will conduct a fire hydrant flow test on Kauhale Street in Pahoa on Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
During the test, DWS customers along Pahoa Village Road, between Post Office Road and the Pahoa-Kalapana Road Intersection, as well as Kauhale Street, Ku’uhome Street, Kekauonohi Street, Akeakamai Loop, Homestead Road, and all side road and lanes will be affected.
Customers should anticipate the potential for slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours following the test. DWS advises customers to refrain from washing clothes and to store a container of drinking water to supplement needs until water returns to normal.
