Recruitment of new Cub Scout program members by the Boy Scouts of America Aloha Council will begin in August and last the duration of the month.

“We are thrilled to begin Cub Scout recruitment and to invite boys to answer our call to adventure this fall,” said Jeff Sulzbach, Scout Executive and CEO of Aloha Council.

Scouts say the program’s curriculum has been completely revamped in 2015.

Sulzbach says the improvements were made “by implementing more hands-on activities, our Scouts will create lasting memories with friends while developing life skills such as leadership, service, fitness, and environmental stewardship.”

Cub Scout members will have the ability to immerse themselves in the adventures while also partaking in a collection of themed, multidisciplinary activities.

From outdoor exploration, including camping and environmental studies, and robotics to outdoor cooking and computers, the adventures are endless.

“The significance of the word ‘adventure’ in our program is to emphasize the mission of Cub Scouts, which is that it should be fun,” said Sulzbach. “These adventures will help our Scouts to discover important skills and learn by ‘doing’ instead of learning by ‘listening’ as their active engagement and completion of these lessons will demonstrate their understanding of the world around them.”
