Fence Posts Stolen from Hamakua Property

A theft of fence posts from county property in an area along the Hamakua Coast is being investigated by the Hawai’i Police Department.

According to police, the theft occurred between Tuesday, July 7 at 2 p.m. and Thursday, July 9 at 8:30 a.m.

Individuals pulled 47 T-rail posts from the ground and removed them from the property, located on the Pa’auilo side of Highway 19 near the 35-mile marker.

The posts were about six-and-a-half feet long and silver in color.

Anyone who has information about the case is asked to call the Police department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Officer Joseph Passmore directly by calling 775-7533.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous should call the Big Island Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.
