Bayfront Highway, between Waianuenue Avenue and Pauahi Street, will close on the evening of July 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Lihiwai Street will also be closed from 2 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the holiday. The closures will take place as Fourth of July festivities get underway in Hilo.
The Hawaii Police Department advises motorists to use Kamehameha Avenue as an alternate route for Bayfront Highway.
