In observance of Independence Day, the Hawai’i County Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that all nine county swimming pools will be closed on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4.

Normal operating hours for all county public swimming pools will resume on Sunday, July 5.

During the closures, the department will remove algae growth and prepare the pools for the summer swim season.

Signs will be posted at each swimming facility reminding patrons of the temporary closures.
