Recent Interim Regional Chief Executive Director of the East Hawai’i Region of the Hawai’i Health Systems Corporation, Dan Brinkman, has officially been named CEO by the 13 member East Hawai’i Regional Board of Directors. Brinkman was named CEO after serving a 10 month interim period. The HHSC had conducted a national search for a new director.

“Dan has served our community and the region well during this interim period. The Board has great confidence that with our support, he will continue to lead the region’s healthcare needs into the future,” said Gary Yoshiyama, who will soon be leaving his two-year term as Board Chair.

Prior to his interim stint, Brinkman held positions as Chief of Nurse Executive and Chief Operating Officer with HHSC.

“I am honored to be selected as the CEO for the East Hawai’i Region,” said Brinkman. “I look forward to working with the Regional Board to continue our work to improve our community’s health through exceptional and compassionate care.”
