You might not imagine finding delicious, French crepe dishes in sleepy Baytown Hilo, but low and behold, Le Magic Pan brings it to the table.

Offering a unique menu of savory and sweet delectable crepes of all varieties, this lesser-known eatery accommodates vegetarians and vegans while hosting an elegant atmosphere for dining out.

Step in the front door and you’re greeted by the classy décor of contemporary paintings, black nouveau furnishing, and the soft croon of Parisian music.  There’s about a half-dozen Eiffel tower representations throughout the restaurant, adding the iconic structure of the “City of Lovers” to the mix for romantic appeal.

Have a seat and you’ll find the service to be welcoming, friendly and charming.  It gets even better with the menu.  You can expect to find crepes, crepes, and more crepes on this menu.  Is that a bad thing?  Absolutely not.  Crepe varieties range from classic Parisian style to Alaskan salmon, cheesy, vegetable-infused crepes, crepes with eggs benedict, shrimp crepes, vegan crepes, and more, all dowsed in a magical house sauce.

The dessert offerings are pretty much a no brainer.  Chocolate crepe with fudge, banana and whipped crème?  Yes please.  Or Waimea strawberry-covered crepes with bananas and whipped cream?  A la mode!?  S’il vous plait!  Would you like some wine or perhaps a cocktail to go with your crepe?  No problem.  There’s a delightful wine list as well as original cocktail concoctions.

The menu also offers an assortment of fresh salads and soups, as well as tasty breakfast dishes like oatmeal with brown sugar and croissant sandwiches.

One of the added perks of Le Magic Pan’s menu is the vegan, vegetarian, and wheat-free options.  Your crepe can be made with garbanzo bean flour for gluten-free deliciousness, as well as buckwheat flour as an alternative.  People with food sensitivities, or just plain picky eaters are also welcome to make special requests to get their crepe order just the way they like it.
