Jordan Kurokawa’s final start of the season was one of his best, pushing the University of Hawai’i at Hilo baseball team to its longest winning streak of the season and its only series win of the year.

The PacWest Conference took notice of Kurokawa’s complete game shutout on April 29 against Academy of Art University, giving Kurokawa the PacWest Pitcher of the Week award for games played between April 27 and May 6.

Kurokawa struck out 10, walked five, and scattered four hits in the Vulcans’ 3-0 win over the Urban Knights in the final game of a doubleheader that night. It was a team-best third complete game of the season for the junior right-hander.

UH-Hilo won its final three games of the regular season, the last three games of its four-game set against Academy of Art. It was the first series win for the Vulcans all year.
