UPDATE: Single Engine Plane Crashes at Hilo Airport

*** Update to story made at 4:19 p.m. to include information from Hilo Hospital officials. ***

Two people are in critical condition, and one is in stable condition at Hilo Hospital, according to hospital officials.

A private single-engine Cessna plane crashed at Hilo International Airport, according to Department of Transportation officials.  The incident occurred around 2 p.m.

Two men and a woman were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital by paramedics.

Hilo airport rescue and firefighters responded to the scene and secured the area by 2:20 p.m.

According to officials, there will be no flight delays or cancellations at Hilo Airport.  All flight operations are continuing as usual.
