Craig Anderson has been appointed as vice president of operations at the Mauna Kea Resort. In his new role, Anderson will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, including the corresponding golf courses. Other roles he will fulfill include service as a liaison between the hotels and Mauna Kea Resort homeowners.

“An outstanding leader in Hawai’i’s visitor industry and respected member of the community, Craig is the ideal person to take the helm of Mauna Kea Resort,” said Donn Takahashi, president of Prince Resorts Hawai’i. “As we celebrate Mauna Kea Beach Hotel’s 50th anniversary, Craig’s valuable experience will be critical in leading our resort forward.”

Anderson has over 31 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including 16 of those years leading resort teams on Kauai, Maui, and Oahu. Over the past three years, Anderson was general manager at Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort & Spa. Previous roles include positions as general manager of The Westin Maui Resort & Spa and The Westin Princeville in Kauai.

His roles expand beyond the Aloha state. Anderson was the director of operations for The Westin La Palmoa Resort in Tucson, Arizona before moving to Hawai’i in 1999.
