The premier New Zealand theater group Massive Company will present “The Brave” at Kahilu Theatre on Thursday, Mar. 12, at 7:00 p.m.

Combining real confessions with raw athleticism, The Brave defines bravery by a new generation.  The plotline follows eight men who have written letters to important people who are, or once were in their lives.  The letters trigger a floodgate of untold stories and survival tactics, echoing the ultimate message for the modern Maori male – “man up”.  The men find strength through family, love, loss, fear, hope, and brotherhood.

The cast consists of Neil Amituanai, Dominic Ona-Ariki, Leki Jackson Bourke, Scott Cotter, Todd Emerson, Beulah Koale, Jonny Moffatt, and Andy Sani.  The show is directed by Sam Scott and Carla Martell.

TheatreScenes calls the production “…a rare show that’s able to cut through and grab you on a deeply personal level.”

A review by TheatreView commented: “…their stories strip away the layers of self and put very human stories and heart out there for us to admire and respect.”
