The Hawai’i County Department of Public Works Highway Maintenance Division has extended its anticipated completion date of the resurfacing of Mamalahoa Highway between Keopu Channel and the Hawai’i Electric Light Keopu substation, between mile marker 6 and mile marker 8.

DPW officials originally announced that the roadwork would be completed by Feb. 18, but have since extended the completion date to Feb. 27.

Roadwork is conducted Monday through Friday, weather permitting.

During the roadwork, alternate lane closures will be in effect between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
