Overnight HPP Structure Fire Deemed Suspicious

The Hawai’i County Fire Department responded to a structure fire overnight in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision.
Fire personnel arrived on scene just after 4:30 a.m. to a home under construction on 25th Avenue between Paradises Drive and Kaloli Drive. The hallway and living room areas were found in flames.
Four engines, two tankers, and 20 fire personnel, five of whom were volunteer fire fighters, aided in putting the fire out.
By 4:40 a.m., the fire was extinguished.
The Fire Inspector who was on scene determined the fire to be suspicious. Hawai’i Police Department officials were also on scene.

No injuries were reported and the total loss has been estimated at $20,000.
