Waiakea Uka Water Restriction Advisory
An emergency water notice has been posted by the Department of Water Supply as of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
The DWS says that the restriction advisory is in effect for customers in the Waiakea Uka area who live along Hoaka Road, upper Ainaola Drive, and Mala’ai Street, including all connector roads.
Low to no pressure in water service has been reported in the area and is currently being investigated by DWS officials.
Customers in the affected area are being advised to reduce water usage to necessary needs only.
The following are suggestions from the DWS:
Keep water use to an absolute minimum.
Water should be used for essentials only (cooking, drinking, and sanitation.)
Do not wash cars or water lawns
Turn off or disconnect any devices or fixtures that regularly draw water. Such devices include automatic icemakers and irrigation systems.
Officials have made water spigots available at the Waiakea Uka Gym and ballpark to provide drinking water for residents in the affected areas.
Additional water concerns can be reported by calling the DWS at 961-8790.
