Dane Ikaika Correa of Puna has been arrested and charged in connection to a stolen iPad incident that occurred in Hilo.

According to the Hawai’i Police Department, the incident happened on May 15 of last year when an unknown man went to a home on Desha Avenue in Hilo to sell opihi. When the buyer went inside to get money to pay for the opihi, the seller waited in the garage. Once the seller had left, it was discovered that an iPad was missing from the garage.

Police later recovered the iPad that had been sold to another party and an investigation led to the identity of 24-year-old Correa.

Correa was arrested on Wednesday and was charged with first-degree burglary and third-degree theft.
