Pueo’s Osteria, the Italian-inspired restaurant located in the Waikoloa Highlands Center, recently named a general manager in Theodore “Teddy” Lyau Jr.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Teddy to our ohana and feel he will greatly enhance what we do here at Pueo’s,” Executive Chef James Babian said.

The TripAdvisor ranked restaurant hired the award-winning food and beverage professional following his recent service at the Beach Tree restaurant general manager at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. Lyau is a certified sommelier who has held additional management positions at Hualalai Grille, Maui’s Nick’s Fishmarket, and Sarentos on the Beach.

“With his expert knowledge of wine, we are excited to take our service and products to the next level,” said Christine Barbian, Pueo’s proprietor.

Lyau, an O’ahu native, began his journey in the hospitality industry at a young age, working his way through numerous restaurant positions. He currently lives in Waikoloa with his wife, Vanessa, and daughter, Bella, where he enjoys spending time surfing, fishing, golfing, and spending quality time with those he cares about.
