Additional Military Convoys Scheduled into the Weekend

In addition to the military convoys traveling between Kawaihae Habor and Pohakuloa Training Area on Jan. 16 and Jan. 18, military convoys of Oahu-based soldiers will travel roads going in the opposite direction, between Pohakuloa Training Area to Kawaihae Harbor, daily from Jan. 15 through Jan. 18 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Roads used during the convoys include Daniel K. Inouye Highway, Mamalahoa Highway, Waikoloa Road, Queen Kaahumanu Highway and Akoni Pule Corridor. Military police will escort the convoys.

The PTA Department of Army police, along with local authorities and military units, are working closely together in support of unit training and readiness.

Motorists operating in these areas are advised to use caution and remain alert.
