Waimea Power Outage Leads to Water Unavailability

The Department of Water Supply has announced an emergency notice for customers in the Waimea area, specifically the Pu’unani Subdivision and along Mana Road.

Last of electrical power in the area has caused water to be unavailable in the stated areas.

Customers can access emergency drinking water as Hawai’i Electric Light works on restoring power. The water is available through a spigot located at the Waimea Baseball Park on Spencer Road, near the restrooms.

Waimea residents who are not being affected by the outages, and water unavailability are advised to conserve water.

The DWS advises customers in the area to keep water usage to a minimum, using water for essential purposes only, as well as turning off or disconnecting devices or fixtures that regularly draw water.

Households who experience water disturbances are requested to call the DWS 24-hour service line at 961-8790.
