The Blizzard Warning was extended by the National Weather Service for the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa through 6:00 a.m. Thursday.
Up to 2 inches of snow is expected with winds of 40 to 55 mph, gusting to 80 mph.
The National Weather Service warns of extremely hazardous and possibly life-threatening conditions for anyone attempting to drive or hike to the summits.
The Flash Flood Watch has been extended by the National Weather Service until 6:00 a.m. Thursday. A disturbance near the islands through early tomorrow morning could bring unstable conditions to Hawaii County. The potential for heavy flooding rainfall and thunderstorms remains elevated through that time. If this occurs in a short period of time flash flooding may occur. Excessive runoff may produce rock and mudslides in steep terrain and fast flowing water may create life threatening situations.
The Small Craft Advisory has been extended for Big Island windward waters and the Alenuihaha channel through 6:00 p.m. Thursday. Winds of 15 to 20 knots are expected and rough seas from 6 to 12 feet.
