Shark Sighting at Laaloa Beach Park

Laaloa Beach Park in Kailua-Kona has been closed by the Hawai’i State Department of Land and Natural Resources due to the sighting of a 12-foot Tiger Shark about 20 feet from the shore.

The sighting occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

According to officials, no other beach parks will be closed at this time. The park is estimated to remain closed until about 5 p.m. Wednesday.
