A 13-year-old boy is missing after cliff jumping at Hapuna Beach Park Sunday.

The boy, who was last seen wearing a black shirt and tan shorts, was cliff jumping at the beach park with friends when he reportedly jumped off a 15-foot cliff and never resurfaced.

At 10:21 a.m., Hawai’i Fire Department notified watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Honolulu Command Center of the missing boy. HFD and the Coast Guard conducted searches throughout the day.

HFD personnel conducted below-the-water searches with dive teams, surface searches with Ocean Safety, and air searches with Fire and EMS air support.

Also aiding in the efforts is the Coast Guard, who is in the air with a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Barbers Point. The Coast Guard’s Cutter Kiska, a 110-foot Island class patrol boat ported in Hilo, is on the scene.

The identity of the boy has not been released.
