Road Temporarily Closed to Move Unexploded Ordnance

Highway 190 between mile markers two and three was closed from 11 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Tuesday as the United States Army Corps of Engineers moved an unexploded ordnance to a safe area for disposal.

According to a Hawai’i County Civil Defense message, the disposal of the ordnance will occur at 2 p.m. Emergency crews will be on scene throughout the process.
