An invasion of privacy case is being investigated by the Hawai’i Police Department in connection to an August incident that occurred on a public bus.

On August 26 at approximately 11:50 a.m., an unknown man appeared to be taking indecent photographs of a woman who had fallen asleep on the Hele-On bus while riding in Hilo.

The man has been described by police as Caucasian and in his 40s to 50s. At the time of the incident, he also had shoulder-length hair, a thick mustache, and was wearing a cowboy hat.

He originally boarded the bus in Waimea and was last seen exiting the bus in Hilo.

Police are seeking information on the man’s identity and ask that anyone knows who the individual is or his whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
