Travelers in West Hawai’i are advised to drive with caution beginning Tuesday as the United States Army Garrison-Hawai’i announced Oahu-based service members will convoy from Kawaihae Harbor to Pohakuloa Training Area.

The military convoys will be traveling Nov. 18-19, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Roads traveled by the convoys will include Akoni Pule Corridor, Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Waikoloa Road, Mamalahoa Highway, and the Daniel K. Inouye Highway.

Officers with the Hawai’i Police Department will escort the convoy as it travels.

The PTA Department of Army police are working closely with local authorities and military units to coordinate the convoys in support of unit training and readiness.

Further questions can be addressed by the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawai’i Public Affairs Office at (808) 656-3154 or (808) 656-3160.
