Trenching To Close Bayfront Highway

The Hawai’i County Department of Public Works has announced that trenching in the Bayfront area of Hilo will cause Bayfront Highway from the Waianuenue Avenue intersection to Pauahi Street to close on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Trench digging will be conducted at the Kamehameha Avenue and Pauahi Street intersection.
Off-duty officers will be stationed in the area. Shoreline access will be allowed through Waianuenue Avenue and the Bayfront Highway intersection.
Kamehameha Avenue will remain open.
