The Hilo Downtown Improvement Association will present their Annual Black & White Night in Downtown Hilo on Friday Nov. 7.

The event will run from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Black and White Masquerade Ball After Party from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to begin their evening at the Palace Theater, which will act as “Grand Central Station” for the evening. That’s where people can pick up a treasure map of participating stores and restaurants.

Spend the evening strolling the streets of downtown Hilo, listening to live music, sampling delicious pupus, browsing through galleries, and shopping through the unique shops that the diverse area offers.

The event, described as the “biggest and best walk about party in downtown Hilo,” will end at the Palace Theater for a Black and White Masquerade Ball

This year, the event will stretch downtown Hilo far and wide, from Ponahawai St. to Wailuku Dr., and from Bayfront to Kapiolani St.

Additionally, the Downtown Improvement Association is asking all downtown businesses to help “LIGHT UP HILO” on Black & White Night by leaving front lights on between the hours of 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. in order to help provide a safe environment for the community.
