The Department of Water Supply will be temporarily turning off water along certain sections of Mamalahoa Highway in North Kona next Thursday.
Between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Oct. 16, the DWS will be installing a new waterline connection for the Wai’aha Water System South.
Affected areas along the mauka and makai sides of Mamalahoa Highway stretch from Wai’ono Meadows to Wai’aha Farms, as well as the Iokepa Subdivision.
When water services resumes, customers in the area will notice turbid and/or discolored water. Crews working in the area will be flushing and cleaning out the water lines before turning the water back on.
