Hilo’s Yanagi Among Winners at Hualalai Junior Classic

Hilo’s Pono Yanagi edged Honolulu golfers Acey Yanagishita and Andrew Otani to win the Boys 13-14 division at the 2014 Hualalai Junior Classic, held Sunday at the Hualalai Golf Course.

Yanagi held on to win the division, thanks to an opening round 73 on the par-72 course. He shot a final round 77 to finish at 9-over-par.

The second annual event was held under the auspices of the Hawai`i State Junior Golf Association.
