Temporary Traffic Safety Measures Start August 29 at Kailua Park

Traffic entering Kailua Park will be diverted to the beach access road, located at the north end of Kuakini Highway starting the morning of Friday, Aug. 29.

The Hawai`i County Department of Parks and Recreation issued a press release Friday stating officials will implement temporary traffic-safety measures at Kailua Park, also known as Old Kona Airport Park, to accommodate this year’s E.K. Fernandez Big Island Fair .

All motorists are to follow the temporary 5 mph speed limit while driving along the park’s beach access road.

The speed limit will be in effect until Thursday, Sept. 11.
