HFD Personnel Extinguish Pahoa Garage Fire

Hawai`i Fire Department Personnel responded Thursday evening, Aug. 21, to a fire at a Pahoa-area home.
Fire Fighters arrived at the scene just after 5:45 p.m. to find the three bedroom, two bath home’s carport in flames.
A total of 12 Hawai`i County fire fighters and three volunteers worked at the scene, extinguishing the blaze by 6:10 p.m.
The single-story structure involved in the fire is estimated to have sustained approximately $50,000 in damages.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
