Motorists in Kona should be prepared for possible alternating one-lane closures on Ali`i Drive over the next week as work continues on the La`aloa Extension project.
Crews from Isemoto Contracting Co. will be working extended hours through June 30, a spokeswoman for the county Department of Public Works said.
The new schedule runs from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
She said the one-lane closures may occur from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. within 500 feet of the La`aloa intersection.
The contractor is preparing for the paving of road shoulders, which is scheduled to take place next month.
