Construction Will Prevent Bayfront Turns Overnight Sunday

The ongoing renovation of Kamehameha Avenue near Hilo’s Bayfront will require nighttime work this weekend.

Modifications to traffic signals and travel lanes at the road’s intersection with Pauahi Street will prevent motorists from turning from Kamehameha to the Bayfront Highway from 7 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Motorists are advised to use Waianuenue Highway to access westbound Highway 19.

The right turns will be restored Monday morning.
