Melveen Leed To Perform On Palace Stage

Molokai-born stage and recording artist Melveen Leed will be performing 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Palace Theater in Hilo.

Her “Direct from Carnegie Hall!” concert showcases Leed’s wide range of talent, combining soul and wit with Hawaiian, Jazz and Country music in her performances for more than 50 years.

Leed has entertained audiences in Las Vegas, Japan and on the west coast of California, and appeared several times with Jack Lord in the Hawaii Five-O television series.

Leed was named Best Female Vocalist five times in the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards.

In May she performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Reserved tickets to the Palace Theater performance are $35. General admission tickets are $25. Doors will open at 6 p.m., the performance begins at 7. Call 934-7777.
