The fire department was called on Saturday to rescue two men on a jetski-type watercraft off the Hamakua coast.
A report came in at 4:39 p.m. that the craft had stalled off Paauilo and was taking on water.
The men on the craft were unable to come ashore because of cliffs in the area.
The department dispatched Chopper 1, which arrived at the scene 11 minutes later.
The chopper lifted the men from the water to an ambulance on shore near the 37-mile marker of Highway 19. The men did not require medical assistance.
