An informational meeting will be held by the Hawaii County Fire Department on Wednesday, April 16, on activities available for participants in the Explorer Program of the Boy Scouts of America.

The fire department is among the Explorer’s sponsoring agencies looking to help participants with opportunities to gain life experiences through a career pathway.

A spokesman said the department has a variety of activities and instructors to share knowledge with participants.

Explorer participants may be either males or females in grades 9 through 12.

The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Hawaii Fire Department Training Room located directly behind the Central Fire Station at 466 Kinoole St. in Hilo.

Call James Wilson at 896-1682 for information.
